Deployment of Cooperative Intelligent Transport System infrastructure along highways: A bottom-up societal benefit analysis for Flanders

چکیده
The arrival of specific telecommunication technologies has enabled road users and traffic managers to use shared information coordinate their actions. Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) aim improve safety, reduce environmental impacts congestion, optimize transport efficiency. For this reason, the European Commission its Member States are explicitly looking forward connected vehicles help reach major societal goals in terms safety (Vision Zero) emissions (Green Deal). As necessary roadside infrastructure requires substantial investments from authorities, benefit estimation C-ITS on these domains is essential within efficient public budget allocation. Therefore, paper investigates what extent benefits unit (RSU) Flanders contribute obtaining goals, for upcoming 15 years. It shown that contribution with regard rather limited. Adoption passenger cars found be limiting factor benefits.

A Bottom-up Approach to Environmental Cost-Benefit Analysis
Cost-Benefit Analysis is a method to assess the effects of policies and projects on social welfare. CBAs are usually applied in a top-down approach, in the sense that a decision-making body first decides on which policies or projects are to be considered, and then applies a set of uniform criteria to identifying and valuing relevant cost and benefit flows. This paper investigates the possible a...
متن کاملIntegrating Bottom-Up and Top-Down Analysis For Intelligent Hypertext
The range of hypertext systems continues to expand, from custom-tailored closed systems to dynamic, distributed, and open systems like the World-Wide Web (WWW). The shift from closed to open systems results in a corresponding decrease in the effectiveness of metrics and techniques for providing intelligent hypertext to users. Essentially, the locus of control shifts away from developers towards...
متن کاملDecentralized cooperative management: a bottom-up approach
Network services must self-adapt dynamically in order to accommodate available resources, system errors, and changing requirements. This need for self-reliance will increase with the growing flexibility and heterogeneity that characterizes such network technologies as sensor (ad hoc) networking, grid computing, and pervasive computing. The downside of traditional distributed network management ...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward
In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...
متن کاملHighways for mRNA Transport
Two new studies reveal the role of microtubule polarity in the asymmetric localization of mRNAs. In this issue of Cell, Zimyanin et al. (2008) show that the asymmetric localization of oskar mRNA in fruit fly oocytes results from a slight bias in the direction of its transport. Meanwhile, Messitt et al. (2008) reporting in Developmental Cell find a subpopulation of microtubules that is critical ...
